Libraries of Life is a collaborative project between the Biodiversity Knowledge Integration Center (BioKIC) at Arizona State University (
https://biokic.asu.edu/) and iDigBio (Integrated Digitized Biocollections;Â
https://www.idigbio.org/). The project and related app series are novel and popular learning tools that promote immersive engagement with biological specimens and their data through AR (Augmented Reality) Collection cards that interact with 3D specimen models. Following a first, successful release using a wide range of exemplary specimens from more than 15 Thematic Collections Networks created in North America, Libraries of Life now enters a new phase, broading reach, adding functions, and developing new sustainability solutions.

Initial observations on various user populations suggest that the tool supports object-based pedagogies while promoting enhanced understanding of biodiversity and structural morphologies of diverse species. Our lighting talk wil briefly review current and future landmarks of this fast-developlng collections outreach tool.
